hurt locker

Sort of. Need to ramp up the training for the marathon in 5 weeks, actually I just need to do some training first and foremost. Managed a 90 min run on Monday then a 45 min run yesterday (Friday) which was reasonable given night shifts etc but I knew I had to up the ante. So dragged myself out for a 14 mile run this evening which I'm relatively happy with. Was really flagging in the last half hour but managed to focus enough to get round in just under 2 hours, I think if can get 4 runs a week over the next month I might be in with a shout of a decent time. Not sure I can run again tomorrow however, don't think the joints will take it well but possibly a jaunt on the road bike might keep things ticking over or if I can scrape a lift then some open water swimming.

Tired

Not blogged, not cycled, hardly run either and feeling pretty flogged right now. About 6 weeks off the marathon and not managed more than 2 or 3 runs in any week, really not good enough. On the other hand I have 2 12 on call hour shifts a week for this rotation and whilst clearly I'm not the one responsible for patients I am still running around with the SHO. Obstetrics on call shifts are more hands on, delivered 3 babies, seen another 9 being delivered and a few sections but about to head back for the 3rd night shift of the week and feeling dog tired. Not made any notes yet (get consultants teaching us every day which is nice) and not got a handle on marathon training at all but starting to get an idea of what life will be like after we graduate...(having said that we're doing more hours than the F1s!)
